Cage Controlled Outlaw Clone Engine Rules
The following set of engine rules are designed to allow the karter who weighs more than 250 lbs ( driver weight ) to be competitive with the Flathead engines.
Block: 196 cc engine block only ( no Predators/Honda )
No piston pop up with the exception of 0ne (1) area around the piston. Note: because these engine do not come from the factory with a perfect deck cut, the piston may have a pop up of no more than .003 in (1) of the following areas: 12 o'clock; 3 o'clock;
6 o'clock; 9 o'clock.
Max. bore: 2.695; Billet Rod; Aluminum flywheel mandatory
308 lift cam;
Crank: 2.135 max. stroke
Head: Stock 196 engine head; Porting polishing allowed; Stainless steel valves; 27 mm intake; stock exhaust valve ( min. O.D. .940 ); Max. I.D intake seat .897; Max. I.D exhaust seat .862; Valves not to be sunk below floor; distance between the two valves from head gasket surface to floor not to be less than .280; 26 lb springs; Champion rockers allowed.
Carb: 390 or less. ( if a lesser carb is used it must be presented for approval )
No alterations or mods other than the following; .830 venturi; rear carb bore 1.066 no go; unaltered throttle shaft but may adjust for full throttle; butterfly .045; low side jet non tech on hole; high speed jet non tech; e-tube non tech except 1.180 min length; bleed holes in e-tube to remain unaltered; low and mid range snake eyes to remain unaltered; Manual adjustment needle in bottom of bowl allowed.
The above rules were designed by the Club of “Pa. Caged Controlled Outlaws” and will be monitored by that group in the event tech is needed.
